Marshall T Meyer, Colon Theater (Today's program depends on arrival time) Arrival and reception at the Ezeiza International airport; transfer to Marshall T Meyer- Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano Latin American Seminary to have a reception and Brunch. Departure to the chosen hotel for check in. In the afternoon we begin with the Colon Theatre guided tour: a cultural icon of Buenos Aires, this beautiful theatre is the biggest in the southern hemisphere. It was constructed during 1889 and 1908 by Vittorio Meano. It was inaugurated with Guiseppe´s Verdi´s Aida. Third in size behind the opera houses of Paris and Vienna when inaugurated, it was voted as the best acoustics for opera before La Scala of Milan. Strauss, Toscanini, Stravinsky and Von Karajan conducted here, Callas, Caruso and Pavarotti sang here, as Nijinsky, Nureyev and Fontayne danced in this Mecca of the arts. Historical Jewish day Tour (B,L,D) After breakfast, a tour of Jewish Buenos Aires led by Rabbi Ernesto Yattah, the Dean of our Rabbinical school and an expert guide. Orientation City Tour: Plaza de Mayo, the birth-place of the City of Buenos Aires and the historical and political center of the country. Cabildo (the colonial House of Government) Metropolitan Cathedral (last pope’s Church) with the only Memorial in honor of the victims of the Shoah inside of a Cathedral anywhere in the world. Casa Rosada-The Pink House, the official presidential residence and government headquarters. El Congreso - the Congress Building, impressive structure. El Obelisco - the Obelisk is a memorial monument that has historical facts related to the Argentine history engraved on each of its four faces. Visit to the historic Jewish neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Next we visit AMIA - (Jewish Federation of Buenos Aires, founded in 1894, bombed by terrorists in. 1994, including a Memorial by the renowned Israeli artist - Agam in honor of the 85 victims of the attack). The AMIA continues to serve as a center for a multitude of cultural and community events. Sephardic Synagogue of Lavalle Street, which was built in 1936. Once known as the Lower East Side of Buenos Aires, while not a particularly picturesque neighborhood, it is certainly a historic one for the local Jewish community. Lunch at a local kosher restaurant. Dinner at a local kosher restaurant (TBA) and Esquina Carlos Gardel Enjoy of one of the best tango Galas in Buenos Aires. .The venue used to be a theatre which has been refurbished. Visit to the Masorti Schools Breakfast and Visit to Masorti Schools and congregations (Weitzman, Lamroth Hakol, Natan Gezang, Beit Hilel, etc) Lunch in one of the Masorti School in afternoon, we will visit Marshall T Meyer- Seminario Rabínico Latinoamericano Latin American Seminary founded in 1962 by Rabbi Marshall T. Meyer Z"L. It is the academic, cultural and religious center of the Jewish Conservative Movement (Masorti) in Argentina and Latin America. The main objective of this Seminary is to train and ordain rabbis to spread and perpetuate the Jewish religion in Latin American communities. Since its foundation, 110 rabbis have graduated, including 8 women. They all perform their duties in different communities of Argentina, USA, Israel and many other countries around the world. Visit to Shoa Museum at the building of the Seminario.. Recoleta, San Telma, La Boca Recoleta is an area of great historical and architectural interest, principally because the Recoleta Cemetery is located there. Visit the tomb of Evita Peron. It is also an important tourist destination and cultural center of the city. Considered one of the more affluent neighborhoods, and the cost per square meter of real estate is one of the highest in the city. Then you will explore Puerto Madero, the site of the new Art galleries, local area museums, shopping and entertainment area in Buenos Aires. This area was first used for storage by the docks, but ten years ago, was transformed into the modern hotspot that it is today. See La Boca, the oldest, most colorful, and most authentic neighborhood in Buenos Aires. La Boca is partly an artist colony, and mostly a working-class neighborhood. The most famous street in La Boca is called Caminito (little path), and is the center of tourist activity in the area. The street is commonly shown on postcards for its multi-colored houses. Many artists also show off their work (handicrafts, antiques and silver goods). La Boca Juniors is one of the biggest soccer teams in Argentina and happens to be one of the clubs for which the soccer great, Diego Maradona played. After breakfast at the hotel, it’s time to say goodbye to Buenos Aires and head to the national airport to take your flight to Iguazú. Arrival and transfer to your accommodation - specially picked for you. Then, take a visit to the Argentinean side of the falls, a private transfer with a local guide will pick you up to visit the Iguazú National Park from the Argentinean side (entrance fee included). It’s here where you’ll discover the immensity of these waterfalls as you walk across secure catwalks and paths that lie next to, below and over the top of the falls. Expect to get wet as you’ll likely get much closer than you ever thought possible! Take insect repellent, sneakers, comfortable clothes and a pair of extra clothes.
