It is one of the best preserved colonial cities in the Caribbean from the time when the sugar trade was the main industry in the region • Visit to Plaza Mayor, the historic center of the town, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1988.The buildings surrounding the central square date from the 18th and 19th centuries when trade in sugar and slaves brought riches to the area • Lunch (TBA) • Travel to Cienfuegos • Check in to Hotel • Evening performance by the Cienfuegos Choir • Attend a performance by the children of La Colmenita. La Colmenita was developed with the purpose of conveying a message of peace, humanity and forgiveness. The tour will include the Thomas Terry Theater, the Bay of Cienfuegos and Palacio del Valle-an impressive Moorish- style building • Stop in Santa Clara in central Cuba and meet with members of the Jewish Community Continue to the Jewish cemetery, which serves the communities of Santa Clara, and Cienfuegos. The cemetery was recently restored and an impressive memorial to the victims of the Holocaust
