Tuesday, July 2 – The Hebrew City and the Jewish State

Walking tour of historic "Little Tel Aviv" - Discover the quaint Neve Tzeddek neighborhood that gave birth to the "first Hebrew city in 2,000 years", once home to Zionist cultural pioneers Eliezer Ben Yehuda, S. Y. Wednesday, July 3 – Ancient and Modern Ethnic Encounters in Galilee and Carmel

Depart for northern Israel • Explore the ruins of Tzippori in the Galilee, the city where Rabbi Judah Hanasi sealed the Mishna. Discover Tzippori's lavish ancient mosaic pavements, including Mona Lisa of the Galilee, Nile Flood Festival and Orpheus, who looks like King David? Then ponder why an ancient synagogue floor features a wheel of the zodiac • Lunch and Druze hospitality at Nora's Kitchen in the village of Dalyat El Carmel on Mt. Carmel - Hear a Druze women speak about her community • Guided tour of the Hecht Museum at Haifa University to see the Maagan Michael Shipwreck, the well preserved wreck of a 2,400 year old merchant vessel found in the Mediterranean Sea together with its "tool box", which revealed fascinating information about ancient shipbuilding • Meet with Rabbi Dubi Hayoun of the Moriah Masorti Congregation in Haifa to hear abour his experiences dealing with the Israeli Rabbinate's "theocracy". Thursday, July 4 – The Northern Coast

Guided tour of the ornate Bahai Gardens on Mt. Carmel in Haifa • Walking tour of picturesque Wadi Nisnas, an by Arab neighborhood in the lower city of Haifa, where significant art work has been installed outdoors making it a "museum without walls" and a symbol of Jewish- Arab coexistence • Tour of the Old City of Acco: Visit the Underground Prisoners Museum in Acco Prison, where the British held and even executed Jewish underground fighters. A daring escape from this prison is featured in the film Exodus. Guided tour of the former Atlit detention camp where the British held Holocaust refugees, who tried to enter the country "illegally". Board an "illegal immigration ship" to watch a multimedia presentation about the heroic pre-State immigration • Tour and tasting at the boutique woman run Shoshana Winery in Atlit • Travel to Jerusalem • Check-in to the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem • Free time to relax and prepare for Shabbat Friday evening options:  Join hundreds of other Jews from around the world to Greet the Sabbath at the Western Wall.
