Day One

  • Departure from USA on an overnight flight to Dublin

Day 2

  • Arrive Dublin
  • Arrive at Dublin Airport. Embark on half day guided sightseeing tour of north Dublin Stay at the O‛Callaghan Alexander Hotel for 2 nights. (D)

Day 3

  • Dublin
  • It is a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the Grand Lodge of Ireland on Molesworth Street for a morning visit to the Masonic Grand Lodge of Ireland. This afternoon enjoy a half day (4 hour tour of South Dublin to include a visit to the Guinness Storehouse. At 6:30 depart by coach for the Merry Ploughboys Irish Evening, including dinner. (BD)

Day 4

  • Dublin to Troon
  • 8:00AM departure by coach from Dublin to Belfast. Take the 11:30 ferry, to Cairnryan in Scotland.
  • On arrival in Scotland your private coach will take you to the Marine Hotel, Troon, overlooking the 17th green of the Royal Troon Golf Club, venue of the 2016 Open Championship. This evening visit to the Lodge Mother Kilwinning No.0. Overnight stay. (B)

Day 5

  • Sunday 11 June
  • Ayrshire Excursion: Guided excursion today: visit the Culzean Castle, the Robert Burns Cottage and Museum and the renowned Bachelors Club. A Scottish Heritage Pass is included to provide expedited entry to all venues. Dinner will be at the hotel this evening. (BD)

Day 6

  • Troon to Oban: Scenic drive today along the shores of the Firth of Clyde, crossing the river at Erskine and continuing to Tarbet on the Banks of Loch Lomond. In Tarbet, a private 90 minute cruise, (lunch included), north toward Inveruglas and Inversnaid is arranged, with a guided commentary from the captain. Continue to Inveraray, Loch Awe and the Pass of Brander on route to Oban.
  • Stay at the Oban Bay Hotel, for the next 6 nights.(BLD)

Day 7

  • Isle of Seil: Spend a leisurely morning on your own. This afternoon a short 12 mile drive south to the Island of Seil, over the hump backed Clachan Bridge, technically a “Bridge over the Atlantic”, to visit the village of Ellenabeich, where the artist-poet C John Tylor founded the Highland Arts Galleries. The very small passenger ferry provides the opportunity to visit Easdale – Scotland‛s smallest inhabited island, which is vehicle free. Continue south to Aird to look out over the Sound of Jura to view the surging: Corryvreckan Maelstrom.(BD)

Day 8

  • Island tour to Mull, Iona and Staffa
  • Following an early breakfast, depart Oban on the 08:15 ferry for the 55-minute crossing to Craignure on the Isle of Mull. It is then a 40-mile drive across the island to Fionnphort, for the 10:30 passenger only ferry for the 10 minute crossing to Iona. Entry to Iona Abbey and Monastery is covered with the Scottish Heritage Pass. There is a daily cruise from Iona to visit Fingal‛s Cave on the Isle of Staffa, departing at 12:20, allowing an hour ashore and returning to Fionnphort at 15:05. Rejoin the coach for the drive back to Craignure to check in for the 17:30 ferry to Oban.(BD)

Day 9

  • Fort William, the Great Glen, Glencoe and Rannoch Moor
  • Travel north today for 50 miles through Appin and along the shores of Loch Linnhe to Fort William, situated at the foot of Ben Nevis, Britain‛s highest mountain. View Neptune‛s staircase, a series of 8 locks giving entry to the Caledonian Canal, built by Thomas Telford in 1803. Continue for 30 miles through Spean Bridge and Ivergarry in the Great Glen to Fort Augustus to view the southern end of Loch Ness. After lunch (not included), return through Fort William and use the Scottish Heritage Pass to gain entry to the Glencoe Visitor Center – site of one of the Highand‛s most brutal massacres. Return to Oban across the wild Moor of Rannoch to Tyndrum, then back past Loch Awe.(BD)

Day 10

  • Isle of Arran: After an early breakfast, drive south along the west coast for 60 miles, passing through Kilninver, Kilmartin, Lochgilphead and Tarbert to Claonaig to board the 10:05 ferry for the 30 minute crossing to Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. The island is affectionately known as “Scotland in Miniature”. Drive the east coastal road direct to Brodick Castle. available with the Scottish Heritage Pass. Returning to Lochranza, a 2 course lunch is arranged at Stags Pavilion before walking across the road to visit the Isle of Arran Distillery – the award winning independent distillery – for a tour and tutored tasting – before taking the 16:20 ferry back to Claonaig and Oban.(BL)
  • No evening meal arranged this evening.

Day 11

  • Isle of Skye: After an early breakfast, drive north through Fort William to Mallaig. A brief stop at the Glenfinnan Monument, where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in 1745 to launch the second Jacobite Rebellion (entry included with the Scottish Heritage Pass). Check in 11:00 ferry for the 35 minute crossing to Armadale on the Magical Isle of Skye. Drive through Broadford to Portree, viewing the Cuillin Hills and the Sound of Raasay. Lunch (not included), before returning to Armadale to check in for the 17:20 ferry back to Mallaig and Oban (BD)

Day 12

  • Oban to Edinburgh
  • A scenic guided transfer through Glen Dochart, Strathyre, the Trossachs and Stirling, view the Forth Bridges from South Queensferry, arriving Edinburgh in mid-afternoon. Check-in to the Mercure Princes Street Hotel for the next 3 nights.
  • Group 2 Arrives in Edinburgh June 18
  • Arrive at Edinburgh You will be escorted to the waiting coach and taken on a half day guided sightseeing tour of South Queensferry, Leith and Edinburgh New Town. Check-in to the Mercure Princes Street Hotel for the next 3 nights. Meet up with the members of the group arriving from Oban and walk Meet up with the newly arrived members of the group and walk toward the castle to visit the Camera Obscura for a very unique view of Edinburgh. Dinner will be at your hotel this evening. (BD)

Day 13

  • Edinburgh
  • A half day guided morning tour of the Old Town of Edinburgh, departing the hotel at 9:00am and ending at the Castle. The Lodge of Edinburgh Mary‛s Chapel #1, with records dating back to 1598,is located at 19 Hill Street, a short walk from the hotel. Although the lodge is in recess for the summer, a tour of the premises of this historic lodge will be arranged by the hotel manager. (B)

Day 14

  • Edinburgh & Rosslyn Chapel
  • After a full Scottish breakfast, it is a short walk to the Grand Lodge of Scotland at 96 George Street, which opens at 9:00. This afternoon, board the coach for a half day tour south of Edinburgh to visit Rosslyn Chapel, featured in the DaVinci Code and site of the Apprentice Pillar. Seats are reserved at the Spirit of Scotland Show at 6:30, featuring a Scottish menu and entertainment. Located 2 blocks from the hotel, the show concludes at 9:30. (BD)

Day 15

  • Edinburgh to Tamworth
  • An early breakfast this morning, to depart the hotel, with your new Birmingham based coach and guide, by 08:00 for the 340 mile transfer to Tamworth. Travel via Jedburgh, Hadrians Wall, Darlington, Wetherby, Doncaster, Nottingham and Leicester enroute to Tamworth. Overnight at the BW Appleby Park Hotel (B)

Day 16

  • Stratford-upon-Avon
  • OPTION A: Morning at leisure in Tamworth. Depart the hotel at 2:00 for an afternoon guided excursion to Stratford on Avon to visit Shakespeare‛s Birthplace, followed by Dinner at the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatreand attendance at this evening‛s performance, for most of the group. The coach will transfer the remainder of the group to the Monolithos Lodge in nearby Royal Leamington Spa. After the RSC, the coach will return via Royal Leamington Spa to meet the rest of the group.
  • OPTION B: Full day guided tour visiting Warwick Castle, Kenilworth Castle, Shakespeare‛s Birthplace, followed by Dinner at the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre and attendance at this evening‛s performance, for most of the group. The coach will transfer the remainder of the group to the Monolithos Lodge in nearby Royal Leamington Spa. A relief coach (no guide) will be required to meet the theatre group after the performance and pick-up from Royal Leamington Spa on the way back to Tamworth.(BD)

Day 17

  • Tamworth to Telford
  • A full day guided excursion through the south Derbyshire Peaks National Park, and into the Cheshire Peak District. Select up to 3 of the Historic Houses of Cheshire – in order of proximity to the N Cheshire Haven Lodge: Tatton Park, Arley Hall, Adlington Hall, Capesthorne Hall, Gawsworth Hall, Lyme and Little Moreton Hall. View the Macclesfield Canal en route to Knutsford, the location of the North Cheshire Haven Lodge. Check-in to the Telford Whitehouse Hotel for the next 3 nights. B)

Day 18

  • Attendance at the Tri-Centennial Masonic Celebration at the Weston Park Conference Centre, with round trip transfers from the Tamworth Whitehouse Hotel. (B)

Day 19

  • Depart from Telford to London Heathrow back to the USA. (B)
