Sunday, 21 December - USA Departure
Depart on overnight flight to Israel  
Monday, 22 December - When You Come Into the Land (Deut. 26:1)
Late afternoon arrival 5 PM in Israel to be met and assisted by your ITC representative at Ben Gurion Airport. Proceed to the Galilee for hotel check-in. Light the 2nd Hanukah candle with Erez and Ezra at the hotel. Hotel check-in - Welcome dinner at the hotel Overnight: Sheraton Moriah ,Tiberias  
Tuesday, 23 December - The Golan Heights and Beit Shean Valley
Travel through the Golan Heights by jeep (Shvilim) - off the beaten track - and stop to gaze down over the Galilee, as the Syrians once did. Ascend to the peak of Har Bental, where you can enter army bunkers and take in a panoramic view at the crossroads of three countries; discuss the significance of the Golan Heights in today's geo-political reality. Drive along Israel's border with Jordan Visit Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu in the Beit Shean Valley. Light the 3rd Hanukah candle on kibbutz. Free time for dinner (on one's own) on the Tiberias boardwalk. Overnight: Sheraton Moriah ,Tiberias  
Wednesday, 24 December - Israel's Northern Border
Ride up the Menara cliffs in a cable car and hear the moving stories that took place there before the State was born; optional: enjoy rappelling or biking back down the mountain (rappelling, biking not included in tour price) In historic Acco, walk through the Old City and visit the British prison, where Jewish freedom fighters were incarcerated and the amazing Tunisian Synagogue, which is completely decorated with mosaics depicting stories from Jewish history and traditional texts . Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of Tzefat. Light the 4th Hanukah candle Enjoy a boat ride on the Kinneret followed by a delicious dinner at Decks (optional: some may eat at the Chinese Pagoda) Overnight: Sheraton Moriah ,Tiberias  
Thursday, 25 December - The Mediterranean Coast and Ascent to
Jerusalem. Enjoy a panoramic bus tour of Haifa including an overview of the Bahai Gardens. Meet members of Israel's Druze community in Ossafiya, hear about their fierce patriotism, and enjoy their warm hospitality; enjoy browsing through the colorful Druze market See ancient history come to life at the newly-opened multi-media center against the backdrop of ancient Caesaria. Excavations include an impressive amphitheatre and aqueduct. Ascent to Jerusalem Take in a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem and recite the shehehianu blessing with Erez and Ezra. Friday, 26 December - Jerusalem Prepares for Shabbat
Visit Shalva to see the important work they do with developmentally disabled children. Spend some time today shopping. Tour colorful, bustling Machaneh Yehuda open-air market, as Jerusalem prepares for Shabbat. Light Shabbat candles and the 6th Hanukah candle Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel or a synagogue of your choice Shabbat dinner at the hotel Overnight: Sheraton Plaza, Jerusalem  
Shabbat, 27 December - Shabbat in Tel Aviv
Parashat Miketz; I Rosh Hodesh Tevet. Shabbat services at a choice of neighborhood synagogues (suggestions, directions to be provided) Sumptuous Shabbat lunch buffet at the hotel. Shabbat afternoon walking tour with Rabbi Jonny Porath through the four colorful quarters of the Old City (honorarium, if any, not included in the tour price) Minha/maariv and havdalah at the Kotel; 7th Hanukah candle; bus back to the hotel. Monday, 29 December - Jerusalem of Old
Take part in a moving Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony at Robinson's Arch, the "Conservative Kotel" Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and take a virtual, computerized "walk" through the Jerusalem Temple at the Davidson Center. Free time for lunch (on one's own) and shopping in the Jewish Quarter. In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western Wall's massive foundation stones. Return to the hotel to prepare for the party. Visit the newly-opened state-of-the art Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Children's Memorial at Yad Vashem (age 12 and up, only) At Har Herzl Military Cemetery encounter the "silver platter" on which the Jewish people have acquired - and continue to acquire - our state. Alternative for younger children: At the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, enjoy meeting the animals that roamed this land during Bible times (accompanied by adult/s; not included in tour price) Continue to Tel Aviv. Tour Old Jaffa, where many early immigrants began their lives in Israel, including browsing through the colorful outdoor mid-eastern market, shuk hapishpishim. At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the State. Free evening in Tel Aviv or attend Maccabi Tel Aviv game (if available; not included in tour price) Enjoy a free afternoon in Tel Aviv for shopping or visiting art museums and galleries (on one's own) Overnight: Carlton Hotel, Tel Aviv  
Thursday, 1 January - Digging Israel
Climb down into the amazing underground, pre-State bullet factory built by the Haganah under the noses of the British at the Ayalon Institute. Visit the Weitzman Institute in Rehovot to learn of the impressive hi-tech accomplishments of Israel's top science university, including the Science Garden for a fun, hands-on experience of Israel's cutting-edge science and technology. At the "Dig for a Day" program at Beit Guvrin, uncover actual artifacts as you participate in an ongoing archeological dig.
