Monday, 18 August - Tiberias and the Golan Heights
Take a really fun and somewhat challenging hike down the face of Mount Arbel (suitable for most average-good walkers) Travel to the Golan Heights by jeep, off the beaten track, and stop to gaze down over the Galilee as the Syrians once did. Free time for lunch (on one's own) in Katzrin, capital of the Golan. Ascend to the peak of Har Bental, where you can enter army bunkers and take in a panoramic view at the crossroads of three countries. Return to the hotel for a Lake Kinneret swim. Dinner at the hotel

Tuesday, 19 August - In the Footsteps of Sages and Mystics
Enjoy a family "scavenger hunt" activity (ITC program) in the magnificently excavated ancient city of Tzippori, home to Rabbi Judah the Prince. Tour the courtyards, synagogues, and alleyways of the mystical city of Tzefat Optional: Take part in a family crafts activity (pottery, beadwork, weaving, paper-making) in Tzefat's artist colony Glide down Jordan River tributaries in a kayak Free evening on the Tiberias boardwalk

Depart for Israel's coastal region Meet members of Israel's Druze community in Dalyat al Karmel, hear about their fierce patriotism, and enjoy their warm hospitality. Visit the wonderful excavations of ancient Caesarea, including an impressive amphitheatre and aqueduct and the newly-opened multi-media center, where ancient history comes to life. Optional: Enjoy snorkeling among Caesarea's ancient submerged ruins (on one's own) OR browse Caesarea's seaside shops. Continue south for the ascent to Jerusalem.
