At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the
State. Enjoy an impressive presentation of the amazing achievements

available) At the "Dig for a Day" program at Beit Guvrin, have a handson
experience of archeology as you uncover actual artifacts while taking
part in an actual archeological dig; "cave crawl" also available for

| Monday, 17 November - Layers of History - Depart for Israel's north.

Visit with Doug Gross at his army base in Netanya (if available) OR
Take a panoramic bus tour of Haifa, including views of the Bahai
Gardens. Visit the wonderful excavations of ancient Caesaria, including
an impressive amphitheatre and aqueduct and the newly-opened multimedia
center, where ancient history comes to life. Meet members of
Israel's Druze community in Ossafiya, hear about their fierce patriotism,
and enjoy their warm hospitality for lunch. Hotel check-in and

Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical city of
Tzefat. Free time for shopping in Tzefat. Travel through the Golan

did. Group may split: Taste the fruits of the region in the form of
award-winning wines at the Golan Winery OR Travel back in time as
you visit the excavated Talmudic Village in Katzrin

Early departure to travel south along Israel's border with Jordan
Visit the excavation of Kumran, home of the mysterious ancient sect
that authored the Dead Sea scrolls (arrival time in the area permitting)
Ascend Masada by cable car. Tour this impressive excavation and
discuss the terrible dilemma faced by its Jewish population during
Roman times. Hotel check-in to enjoy its spa facilities and the amazing
