Morning arrival (ideally) in Israel, to be met and assisted at the airport.
Visit the excavations of ancient Megiddo, the site of numerous key battles
from Bible times to the modern period, due to its strategic location.
Walk through its fascinating ancient aqueduct. Take in a wonderful
overview of the Carmel region at Mukhraka-Keren HaCarmel, where Elijah
the Prophet faced off against the prophets of Ba'al. Hotel check-in -

| Tuesday, July 15 - Haifa History
|
Visit Stella Maris, including Haifa's Carmelite Monastery and the Old
Lighthouse, with a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea. Focus on
the history of seafaring and the development of shipbuilding in the
Mediterranean Basin and the Red Sea at the National Maritime Museum.
Visit the Clandestine Immigration and Naval Museum in Haifa and learn
of the struggle for the right to live in Israel and the history of the
Israeli Navy. Walk through the spectacular Bahai Gardens and learn a
bit about the Bahai faith and its utopian vision. Free evening to enjoy
Haifa nightlife.

| Wednesday, July 16 - Varieties of Religious Expression
|
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Beit Hagefen Arab/Jewish community
center in Haifa. In historic Acco, visit the new exhibit about the
years of Muslim rule of the city at the adjacent Turkish Baths, the
beautiful Mosque of Jazzar; the British prison, where Jewish freedom
fighters were incarcerated; and the amazing Tunisian Synagogue, which is
completely decorated with mosaics depicting stories from Jewish history
and traditional texts. Continue north to take the cable car to the mesmerizing
ocean grottos of Rosh Hanikra, at Israel's border with Lebanon.
Evening program with Hakehilla Hamasortit Hakrayot in Kiryat Bialik; hear
about their service to the community and enjoy a catered supper with
them.

At the Dagan Silo Museum, learn about grain processing from prehistoric
times to the present. Stop at the lovely Ein Hod artist's village. VIP

impressive amphitheatre and aqueduct and the newly-opened multi-media
center, where ancient history comes to life. Travel south along Israel's
newest highway, with a view of the Security Fence along the way -

Center. Travel through many centuries in a guided exploration of the

Museum, Children's Memorial, and the Valley of the Communities at Yad
Vashem. Visit Yad Sarah, a facility that provides free medical supplies
for those in need. Assist volunteers there in constructing walkers for
patients - Free evening in Jerusalem.

Valley. Visit the Rockefeller Museum, situated in unique building in East

David. Visit the Shrine of the Book and the newly opened Ancient
Jerusalem Model at the Israel Museum. Group dinner at Little Italy
