Afternoon arrival in Israel; meet the Ramah Staff at Ben Gurion
International Airport. Opening program at Rabin Square Lighting of
the Hanukkah candles followed by welcome dinner at the hotel

| Wednesday, December 24 - Third Day of Hanukkah - Layers of History
|
At Independence Hall, relive Ben Gurion's moving declaration of the
State. Visit the Museum of the Diaspora for a special encounter
with Jewish communities around the world and throughout the ages.
See ancient history come to life at the newly-opened multi-media
center against the backdrop of ancient Caesaria. Excavations include
an impressive amphitheatre and aqueduct. Hotel check-in
Hanukkah candle lighting followed by a Kinneret boat ride, including
organized Israeli folk dancing and soft drinks
Delicious group lakeshore dinner at Decks (fireworks, etc.); light the
Hanukkah candles

| Thursday, December 25 - Fourth Day of Hanukkah - In the Footsteps of Mystics and Pioneers
|
Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and shops of the mystical
city of Tzefat. Ascend the Golan Heights and gaze down on the
Galilee, as the Syrians once did, from Mitzpe Gadot
Enjoy a Golan jeep tour (Shvilim)
Bid farewell to the Galilee at the picturesque Kinneret Cemetery;
read the moving poetry of the pioneer, Rachel the Poetess, and sing
the songs of Naomi Shemer, first lady of Israeli song, at their
gravesites. Travel south along Israel's border with Jordan for hotel
check-in. Free evening in Jerusalem
Optional evening program: Walk alongside the Kotel's massive foundation
stones in the Kotel Tunnels

| Friday, December 26 - Fifth Day of Hanukka - Jerusalem in Her Glory

Tour the Southern Wall Excavations and experience a virtual reality
tour of the Temple Mount at the Davidson Center
Prayer and reflection at the Kotel
Take part in "Roving the Rova," Ramah's interactive family game
that explores the Jewish Quarter, primarily of the 19th century.
(There is also an adults version)
Free time for lunch (on one's own) and shopping in the Jewish
Quarter. Return to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat
Hanukkah and Shabbat candle lighting
Kabbalat Shabbat at Robinson's Arch (the "Conservative Kotel")
Festive Shabbat dinner at the hotel, followed by an Oneg Shabbat

| Sunday, December 28 - Seventh Day of Hanukkah

II Rosh Hodesh Tevet - Yizkor
Visit the Memorial Museum, Children's Memorial, and Valley of the
Communities at Yad Vashem (special Ramah program for children 6-
12 at Yad Vashem; bus will take younger children and parents to the
Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, with entrance fee at their own expense)
At the Herzl Center learn about the life and impact of Theodore
Herzl in a state-of-the-art multi-media presentation and visit the
grave of Herzl and other great leaders of the nation on Mt. Herzl
Walk through the colorful Machaneh Yehuda "Shuk" (open air market),
enjoy the sights and fragrances which remind us that Am
Yisrael Chai- the People of Israel Live!. return to the hotel for
Hanukkah candle lighting
Parents' night out: the children (6 years and up) will have dinner
with the Ramah staff as the adults have a chance to be on their
own; English-speaking babysitters will be available for younger children
at parents' expense

| Monday, December 29 - Eighth Day of Hanukkah - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?

Today we visit Masada. Either depart the hotel early to climb the
snake path or ascend by cable car. Both groups meet at the top for
a tour of this magnificent excavation and a discussion of its harrowing
history (movie included) Spend some time today at a Dead Sea
resort hotel, enjoying its spa facilities, lunch, and the amazing Dead
Sea. At Eretz Bereshit, enjoy camel rides and a biblical dinner in
Abraham's tent in the Judean desert

|
Visit Yad Sarah, a facility that provides free medical supplies for
those in need; assist volunteers there in constructing walkers for
patients (inclement weather alternative)
At the "Dig for a Day" program at Beit Guvrin, have a hands-on
experience of archeology as you uncover actual artifacts while taking
part in an actual archeological dig; "cave crawl" also available for
the adventurous
At the Masorti Youth Village of Neve Hana in Kiryat Gat, see the
tremendously heartwarming work carried out there with children who
have no other home
Return to the hotel for final packing
Farewell dinner at Olive and Fish Restaurant
